Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Once upon a time, the historic area of the Swiss city of Basel was surrounded by ancient walls. St. AlbanTor (St.Alban's Gate), pictured here, dates back to around the year 1400 and is one of only a few pieces of the original fortifications that remain today. To me, this lovely example of architecture from medieval times looks just like the towers illustrated in storybooks I read as a child and I could easily imagine Rapunzel shouting to passers by to release her from captivity. I hand blended textures with my original photograph to compliment the vintage feel of this old world Swiss scene.
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
