Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

Spalenvorstadt framed in Spalen Gate (Spalentor), one of only three gates still standing that were once a part of the ancient walls and ramparts surrounding the Swiss city of Basel in medieval times and dating all the way back to around the early 15th Century. This historic landmark gate is considered to be one of the most beautiful of its kind in Switzerland. This lovely little street has more than 40 speciality shops, restaurants and boutiques and is well worth a visit if you're Basel. I blended a little texture with my original vintage style photograph to compliment the old world feel of this classic Swiss city scene.
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
